Moreover, the version of Edge that is in the Applications folder itself takes up about 1.5 GB rather than 780 MB, because in Microsoft Edge > Contents > Frameworks > Microsoft Edge amework > Versions it has both the current version and the previous version.Īll in all, Microsoft Edge is keeping four copies of this already large application on my hard drive, when only one is needed. Together, this is wasting about 1.5 GB of storage, since each version is just under 800 MB, and I already have Edge in the Applications folder. In my user library folder > Application Support > Microsoft > EdgeUpdater > apps > msedge-stable it contains two folders, one containing a copy of the current version of Edge and one containing a copy of the previous version of Edge. I don’t know if this is a bug or not, but it feels like one, and I’m hoping I can get a little insight.
